Pune July 30, 2019 : ”Youth joining politics is welcome but, don’t enter politics to just contest elections and fight with one another. Instead work passionately in your area of interest toward betterment of the weaker sections of society and then stand for elections. Your popularity will win you a ticket and you will be elected” said Aditya Thackeray, leader of the Shiv Sena and Yuva Sena Chief.

Aditya Thackeray was speaking at an event organised by Entrepreneurs Organisation Pune (EO Pune). The event was moderated by Akshay Adhalrao Patil,(Board Member). Manav Ghuwalewala, President EO Pune welcomed Aditya Thackeray. Vishal Vohra, Aditya Pittie, Sameer Ladkat and many members of the board were present. The event was attended by some of Pune’s prominent industrialists and entrepreneurs.

“In any field one cannot rely on their family legacy for very long. Politics in no different. Wherever you are elected, it is only your work which will speak. Today’s voter is clever and his response is immediate as he is observing your work first and then casting a vote, so choose the area of where you can work longer, otherwise most plans will only remain on paper” said Aditya Thackeray.

Talking about his party’s work and challenges he said that all the new issues that the party has taken up for education, self-defence, alleviating farmer distress, environmental protection reflect how Shiv Sena is in touch with changing times.

Elaborating on his idea of keeping restaurants and eateries open beyond a certain time, “If the city wants to achieve world class status, we need to expand our thinking and rules.” In 1997 when Shiv Sena won the Mumbai Municipal Corporation, the municipal coffers had a deficit of Rs. 450 crore. Today however it is in surplus state. The municipality is building a road on its own by spending Rs. 9,000 crore in the Mumbai coastal area. We are proud that implementing such a big project on our own whereas the state is facing a huge deficit. We would like to do similar work in Pune if the citizens support us.

Aditya Thackeray interacted with members of the audience on topics ranging from his electoral plans, Mumbai’s preparedness during monsoons, state of education and industry prospects.
