Man Claiming To Be An Officer Of MSME Ministry Dupes Pune Citizen Of Rs 7 Lakh On Pretext of Giving Mudra Loan, Case Registered

Ravet 6th Oct 2023: The Pimpri Chinchwad Police have booked an unidentified person for allegedly duping a citizen from Punawale area on the pretext of giving Mudra loan for business. The incident took place between August 5 and September 29 this year.
According to the complaint registered with police, the accused called the complainant and informed that he is an officer from the MSME Ministry of Government of India. He offered to provide Mudra loan for business by the ministry and asked him to share a few documents such as Bank Statements, Pan Card, Aadhar Card and GST Certificate. During further discussion, the accused asked him to pay money for different reasons. However, when the complainant realised that he was being duped he had already transferred a total of Rs 7,82,434 to the accused.
A case under sections 420, 406 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) along with section 66(c) of the Information Technology Act has been registered at Ravet Police Station. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
