Marathwada Mukti Sangram Day Celebrated with Enthusiasm at Savitribai Phule Pune University

Pune, 18th September 2025: The Marathwada Mukti Sangram Day program was held with great enthusiasm at the auditorium of the Department of Education, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). The event was organized by students from Marathwada.

Dr. Parag Kalkar, Pro-Vice Chancellor of SPPU, presided over the program. Other dignitaries present included Dr. Munjaji Rasve, Deputy Registrar; Prof. Dr. Vilas Adhav, Director of the Lifelong Learning and Extension Department; Dr. Geeta Shinde, Head of the Department of Education; Dr. Harish Navale, Head of the Department of Philosophy; Prof. Subhash Kendre from the Department of Statistics; Dr. Vaibhav Jadhav; and Prof. Babasaheb Dudhabhate.

The speakers highlighted key events of the Marathwada Liberation Movement, recalling the sacrifices and contributions of those who fought for the cause. They emphasized the importance of remembering this historic struggle and its role in shaping the state’s social and political identity.

The program was introduced by Senate Member Krishnadada Bhandalkar. It was anchored by Kiran Bhadre, while Shiva Barole delivered the vote of thanks. A large number of students from Marathwada attended the event.
