Market Yard: Entry Of Dummy Vendors Banned, Pass Required From Monday

Pune, 17 April 2021: Market Committee, Police Administration has taken strict steps to reduce the crowd in the Market Yard. Retailers and tempos will not be allowed in the market from Monday. Also, people are being given passes by the market committee.

 

Market committee administrator Madhukant Garad said on Friday that entry to the market would not be allowed without showing the identity card and pass at the entrance.

 

A meeting was held between the police and the market committee administration to reduce congestion at the head office of the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC). Various decisions were taken in this meeting. At this time, Joint Commissioner of Police Dr Ravindra Shiswe, Additional Commissioner of Police Dr Sanjay Shinde, DCP (Zone 5) Namrata Patil, Assistant Commissioner Rajendra Galande, Administrator of Market Committee Madhukant Garad, Deputy Secretary Satish Konde, President of Adte Association Vilas Bhujbal were present.

 

“There are about two thousand dummy vendors in different sections of the Market Yard. There was also a rush of customers at these dummy vendors. Therefore, dummy, as well as lemon sellers, have been banned. Passes will be issued to the people who have come for buying in the market. Vehicles carrying agricultural goods will be allowed to enter through gate number one, while buyers’ vehicles will be allowed to enter through gate number 4”, Garad said.

 

This the decision to reduce the crowd

• Only four passes per stop

• Rickshaws completely closed in the market yard

• Gate No. 7 will have only commercial vehicles

• Dummy vendors and retailers selling lemons will be banned.

• No access to the market without an identity card

• 30 police and market committee staff to bring the crowd under control

If the person breaks the rules, a case will be registered

• No access to the parking lot without a pass or ID card. Otherwise action on the concerned contractor

• The market will continue till 30th with the coordination of the market committee and police.

 

Barricades will be installed on all the roads leading to the Market Yard from Monday. Barricades will also be set up on small roads including Utsav Chowk, Shivneri Road, Gate No. 7 Bibwewadi Road, and Post Office Chowk. Therefore, entry to the market will be given only if there is an identity card and a pass from Monday. Otherwise, those going to the market yard will have to return empty-handed. Also, action will be taken.

 

Action if you break the rules

“There is a large number of people carrying goods in different sections of the Market Yard. The number of buyers is also significant. So it’s getting crowded here. Effective measures have been taken to reduce this congestion. Police are monitoring the market situation. Strict action will be taken against those who break the rules from Monday”, said Ravindra Shiswe, Joint Commissioner of Police.

 

Cooperate with the administration

“Everyone’s cooperation is expected to control the Covid infection. People should follow the rules and cooperate with the administration”, appealed Namrata Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Zone Five.
