30th November 2023: Maruti Suzuki introduced the Maruti Suzuki Jimny and the new-generation Maruti Suzuki Fronx at the Auto Expo 2023. The Fronx has gained popularity as an SUV in the Indian market. The Jimny, known for its affordability and off-road capabilities, is currently offered with a flat discount of Rs 1.50,000 on its Zeta variant at Maruti Suzuki Jimny dealerships. Additionally, there’s an extra offer of Rs 50,000 through exchange and loyalty bonuses. It’s important to note that this promotion is valid only for this month and applicable exclusively to the Zeta variants with manual and automatic transmissions.

The Maruti Suzuki Jimny lineup comprises two variants: the entry-level Zeta and the top-tier Alpha. Pricing in the Indian market ranges from Rs 12.174 lakh to Rs 15.025 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. The Jimny boasts a choice between two dual-tone and five monotone colors, including options like Bluish Black Roof with Kinetic Yellow, Bluish Black Roof with Sizzling Red, Sizzling Red, Granite Grey, Nexa Blue, Bluish Black, and Pearl Arctic White. Offering a boot space of 208 liters and a ground clearance of 210 mm, the Jimny also comes equipped with features such as a digital instrument cluster, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay connectivity, cruise control, automatic climate control, a height-adjustable driver seat, premium music system, and leather seats.

Powering the Jimny is a 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine generating 105 bhp and 134 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic gearbox, with 4WD low and 4WD high options for enhanced off-road performance. Notably lighter than the Mahindra Thar, the Jimny navigates with ease on challenging terrains. Safety features include six airbags, electronic stability control, a tire pressure monitoring system, hill hold assist, hill descent control, traction control, reverse parking camera with sensors, and ABS with EBD. In the Indian market, the Jimny primarily competes with the Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha, and both these rivals are gearing up to launch their 5-door versions soon.
