Massive Bus Accident on Pune-Nashik Highway Injures 40–50 Passengers
Pune, 7th February 2025: A severe accident occurred in the early hours of today on the Pune-Nashik Highway when a speeding container truck rear-ended a private luxury bus heading towards Pune. The collision resulted in 40 to 50 passengers sustaining serious injuries, who were immediately rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.
The impact of the crash was so severe that the bus was completely mangled, with the driver’s seat entirely dismantled. The front portion of the bus was utterly destroyed, and many passengers, who were asleep at the time of the accident, suffered grave injuries. Shattered glass and bloodstains were visible at the accident site, with some passengers reportedly thrown onto the road due to the force of the impact.
According to preliminary reports, the container truck, travelling at high speed, collided with the luxury bus, causing the bus driver to lose control. The bus subsequently overturned on the highway, leading to a major traffic jam in the aftermath of the accident.
Local residents and highway police quickly responded to the scene, providing immediate assistance to the injured and transporting them to nearby medical facilities. The road was cleared by highway police with the use of a crane. The accident caused significant traffic congestion on the Pune-Nashik Highway. While initial information suggests that the container driver may have lost control due to excessive speed, police are investigating to determine the exact cause of the accident.
