Massive Job Opportunities For Labourers In Pune District, Know How To Apply

Pune, 23 August 2021: Corona’s first and second waves hit the services, industrial and construction sectors hard. As a result, many labourers left Pune in fear.

Now the Pune District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA) has taken the initiative to provide job opportunities to the labourers and also help them get benefits from various government schemes.

The PDLSA, Symbiosis Law School, Divine Jain Group Trust and Lalita Motilal Sankla Foundation have jointly organised “Rojgar Melawa” (job fair) for the labourers. The vacancies are for housekeeping, building construction, security, and industrial jobs.

“The economic crisis made it difficult for many workers to cope with the day-to-day running costs. Employment fair is being organized to financially empower such workers”, said Principal District Judge Sanjay Deshmukh at a press conference.

District Legal Services Authority Secretary Pratap Sawant, Symbiosis Law School Director Dr Shashikala Gurpur, Divine Jain Group Trust president Sanket Shah and Lalita Motilal Sankla Foundation’s Sunny Sankla were present on the occasion.

Symbiosis Law College staff and students will scrutinize the workers’ biodata. The workers’ applications will then be sent to the concerned companies through the Divine Jain Group Trust and Lalita Motilal Sankla Foundation.

According to PDLSA Secretary Sawant, employment will be provided to the applicants according to their interests and experience.

Sanket Shah of the Divine Jain Group Trust said that the companies will follow their recruitment procedure like screening and interview of the applicants. “We have received a hundred forms till now. The vacancies are for thousands of jobs,” he added.

According to Lalita Motilal Sankla Foundation’s Sunny Sankla, an industrialist from Chakan, “Chakan MIDC has more than 1800 companies. Most labourers had left due to the COVID pandemic. We managed to get back 70 per cent of them but still there is a 30 per cent gap. The vacancies are mostly in Chakan, Talegaon and Ranjangaon areas.”

Interested candidates can apply till September 9. They can submit their biodata at the office of Pune District Legal Services Authority located on the first floor of New Building on the district court premises in Shivajinagar or send the biodata on email [email protected] or [email protected]
