Pune, 9th May 2024: Voting for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 in the Maval Lok Sabha Constituency is scheduled for May 13th. Eligible voters from all Vidhan Sabha Constituencies under the Maval Lok Sabha Constituency are urged to recognize their responsibility and civic duty by participating in this democratic celebration and casting their vote. Deepak Singla, the Election Returning Officer of Maval Lok Sabha Constituency, has appealed to all voters within his reach to exercise their right to vote.

The Maval Lok Sabha Constituency comprises Maval, Pimpri, and Chinchwad in Pune District, along with Panvel, Karjat, and Uran Vidhan Sabha Constituencies in Raigad District. The administration is committed to conducting the entire election process for this Lok Sabha constituency in a transparent, fair, and fear-free environment. Singla emphasized that considering the summer season, various facilities have been arranged, including the construction of mandaps and the completion of other technical aspects. Additionally, the administration has ensured provisions such as drinking water at polling stations, ramps for the disabled, security arrangements, and adequate medical supplies tailored for the summer conditions. Meetings have also been organized at polling stations with more than five polling booths to address any concerns and ensure a smooth electoral process.

Constituency-wise traffic plans have been devised for the Maval Lok Sabha area. Vehicles necessary for transporting officers, staff, and police assigned to the polling process to their designated polling stations have been organized. A total of 175 PMPML buses, 219 ST Corporation buses, 105 mini-buses, 25 EVM containers, and even 1 boat have been arranged to transport approximately 12,000 polling officers, staff, and voting machines.

In total, 11,368 polling officers and employees have been appointed across 2,566 polling stations. Additionally, 83 micro-inspectors have been assigned to sensitive polling stations.

For the voting process, 9,581 ballot units, 3,591 control units, and 3,816 VVPAT machines are required, which have been distributed based on assembly-wise allocation. Adequate training is also being provided to the staff assigned to the polling process at the Assistant Election Returning Officer’s office level.

Singla appealed to voters not to carry mobile phones inside the polling station. He urged voters to contribute to the empowerment of democracy by exercising their sacred right to vote on May 13 without succumbing to any temptation.
