Kalyani Nagar, 9th May 2024: In a bid to foster greater civic engagement and stimulate voter participation, Pune Platform for Collaborative Responses (PPCR) joined hands with Team Swachh Kalyani Nagar (TSKN) for a collaborative initiative titled “VOTEKAR PUNEKAR.”

This joint endeavor, aimed at amplifying awareness about the significance of voting, culminated in a successful event held today at 6 PM.

The event served as a platform to underscore the pivotal role citizens play in shaping Pune’s future through active participation in the democratic process. Amidst the backdrop of rapid urbanization and socioeconomic disparities, initiatives like “VOTEKAR PUNEKAR” take center stage in promoting inclusivity and equitable representation within the community.

Reflecting on the essence of the campaign, Aniket Bhilare, Coordinator of PPCR, emphasized, “At PPCR and TSKN, our commitment extends beyond mere rhetoric. We recognize the pressing need to empower residents with the knowledge and agency to effect positive change in their locality.”

The activities organized under the banner of “VOTEKAR PUNEKAR” were tailored to educate citizens about the intricacies of the electoral process and its far-reaching implications on local governance. A symbolic foot march served as a poignant reminder of the collective responsibility shared in building a progressive and responsive society through informed electoral choices.

Further bolstering the outreach efforts, a FlashBoard activity was conducted in Kalyani Nagar, targeting the youth demographic. The interactive session saw enthusiastic participation from residents eager to engage with the campaign’s message. Quotes and queries alike were exchanged, fostering an environment conducive to dialogue and learning.

“As responsible stakeholders in Pune’s growth trajectory, understanding the value of casting a vote carries immense significance for each citizen,” remarked Bhilare. “It is not merely a civic duty but a tangible expression of individual agency in shaping policies and priorities that impact our collective well-being.”

To streamline the voting process, a direct link to the Election Commission of India’s portal was provided, enabling residents to effortlessly locate their designated polling stations based on residential details. This user-friendly interface aims to alleviate logistical hurdles and encourage higher voter turnouts on election day.

Bhilare extended gratitude to all stakeholders for their unwavering support and urged continued collaboration in amplifying the message of civic engagement. “Together, we can inspire a culture of active citizenship that transcends barriers and fosters a more vibrant and inclusive democracy,” he concluded.
