MG Hector Faces Price Hike Despite Recent Market Shifts

Pune, 21st November 2023: MG Motors has implemented another price hike for its flagship model, the MG Hector, in the Indian market. Launched on January 5, 2023, the MG Hector facelift represents the most advanced iteration to date, boasting impressive features and enhanced convenience. Earlier, MG Motors had slashed prices by Rs 1.37 lakh for the Hector and Hector Plus; however, the company has opted to increase prices by Rs 40,000 this time. Consequently, the starting price for the MG Hector in the Indian market is now Rs 15 lakh ex-showroom. The MG Hector is available in five variants: Style, Smart, Smart Pro, Sharp Pro, and the top-tier Savvy Pro, offered in both dual-tone and monotone color options.

Designed as a proper 5-seater SUV, the Hector also offers a Plus variant with the flexibility of a 6-seater or 7-seater layout. The vehicle is powered by two engine options: a 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine generating 143 bhp and 250 Nm torque, and a 2.0-liter diesel engine producing 170 bhp and 350 Nm torque. Both engine options come with a standard six-speed manual transmission, while the petrol variant offers a CBT gearbox. The claimed mileage by the company is 15.18 kmpl.

Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the MG Hector features a 7-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay with wireless Android Auto, and advanced car connectivity technology. A notable addition is the advanced turn indicator, a feature unique to the MG Hector, indicating steering wheel movements. Additional highlights include front ventilated seats with a memory function, height-adjustable driver seat, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting with multiple color options, dual-zone climate control, second-row passenger AC control, and premium leather seats. Safety features encompass 6 airbags as standard, electronic stability control, tire pressure monitoring system, hill hold assist, hill descent control, traction control, a 360-degree camera, rear reverse parking sensor, and level two advanced technology ADAS, including adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, automatic high beam assist, departure from line warning, lane return, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic jam assist, and a blind spot monitoring system.
