Pune: Tenant Assaults and Drowns House Owner Over Motorcycle Noise

Pune, 22nd November 2023: An alarming incident has been brought to light where a tenant allegedly assaulted and drowned the house owner in a water tank. The motive behind this gruesome act was purportedly anger over the owner’s motorcycle racing activities, characterized by excessive accelerator usage.

The accused has been apprehended, and a case has been registered at the Loni Kalbhor Police Station. The incident occurred in Khandoba Mal, Uruli Kanchan village, between 12:30 and 12:30 on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Dada Gyandev Ghule, aged 50, residing at Khandoba Mal, Uruli Devachi. Based on a complaint from his nephew Prathamesh Santosh Ghule (19), police have registered a case and arretsed Santosh Rajendra Dhotre (37).

The accused, Dhotre, lived with his family as a tenant in the same chawl. Allegedly agitated by the noise generated by Ghule’s motorcycle, Dhotre initiated a verbal altercation. The situation escalated, leading to a physical confrontation between Ghule and Dhotre. In a fit of rage, the accused proceeded to assault Ghule, eventually submerging him in a water tank.
