Volkswagen Elevates Driving Experience with Virtus Sound Edition
Pune, 21st November 2023: Volkswagen is strategically enhancing its presence in the Indian market by consistently introducing special editions of its vehicles to bolster sales. Recently, the Volkswagen Taigun Trail Edition was launched, followed by the introduction of a new matte finish for the Virtus. Now, Volkswagen is set to unveil the Virtus Sound Edition in India, featuring significant cosmetic enhancements and new features. Positioned as an upgrade to its top variant, the Sound Edition showcases distinctive external changes, including graphics and sound edition batching on the C pillar. Additional color options like Lava Blue, Carbon Steel Grey, Wild Cherry Red, and Rising Blue, along with white-colored roof and ORVMs, contribute to its aesthetic appeal.
True to its name, the Virtus Sound Edition places a strong emphasis on the sound system. Building upon the existing sound system of the top model, it introduces a new amplifier and subwoofer. The cabin is adorned with sound edition branding on the seats, complementing the overall audio experience. The Sound Edition retains all existing features while leaving room for potential additional features in the future. Noteworthy features include a height-adjustable driver seat with ventilated front seats, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, and wireless Android Apple CarPlay connectivity. The roster also includes Penn Voice Assist Sunroof, advanced connected car technology, footwell lighting, wireless charging, and USB charging for rear passengers.
Under the hood, there are no changes to the existing engine options. Safety features encompass six airbags, electronic stability control, a tire pressure monitoring system, hill haul assist, hill descent control, ABS with EBD, and a camera with reverse parking sensors. The Virtus Sound Edition has earned a 5-star safety rating. The standard variant of the Volkswagen Virtus is priced between Rs 11.48 lakh to Rs 19.29 lakh ex-showroom Delhi, while the Sound Edition starts at Rs 15.51 lakh and goes up to Rs 16.77 lakh ex-showroom. Competing in the Indian market, the Virtus faces rivals such as the Hyundai Verna, Skoda Salvia, Honda City, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
