Midnight Firing at Shiv Sena Leader’s Car in Pune
Warje Malwadi, 20th May 2025: Tension gripped the Warje Malwadi area late Monday night after unidentified assailants opened fire at the vehicle of Yuva Sena district chief Nilesh Rajendra Ghare, a leader from Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena. No injuries were reported in the incident.
The incident occurred around midnight when Ghare was returning home. He had stopped by his office at Ganpati Matha in Warje Malwadi, accompanied by his colleagues. After parking his car, two unidentified individuals on a motorbike approached and fired at the vehicle’s door window before fleeing the scene.
The Warje Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. They are examining CCTV footage from nearby areas and speaking to witnesses in an effort to identify the suspects.
According to sources, Ghare was not injured in the attack and is safe. The motive behind the firing remains unclear, and police are probing whether it was an act of intimidation or linked to political rivalry.
