Corona has once again started to wreak havoc on the workers. Fearing the loss of employment, workers leave these cities and leave for their homes. However, the railway administration cited the summer season as a cause of congestion due to which a large number of people travel to their home places. Sources said that the Bihar-bound trains have been overcrowded since the state government imposed new restrictions on Covid-19 earlier this month, but the weekend saw more congestion.
Considering the increase in the cases of Covid-19, the Maharashtra government is speculating to consider a complete lockdown. An employee of the Central Railway stationed at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus said that there has been a significant increase in the number of passengers at the station in Mumbai for the last few days.
He said, “The trains have been very crowded for the last few days.”
Many new special trains from Pune to Lucknow, Danapur, Bhagalpur and Gorakhpur have been started, considering the heavy rush of passengers.
