Missing Fire Extinguisher and Non-Functional Emergency Doors Among Major Problems RTO Officials Find In Private Travels
Solapur 10th July 2023: The Regional Transport Office (RTO) personnel of Solapur division in a recent action have found some very serious problems in the private travels operating on Pune-Solapur and Solapur-Mumbai route. The RTO squads found fire extinguisher missing in many travels buses while emergency doors of many buses were also reported to be non-functional.
The RTO officials were conducting a special drive after the recent accident reported on Samruddhi Expressway in Buldhana district in which 35 people had lost their lives.
According to officials, a total of 214 buses were checked by the RTO officials of which 94 were found in violation of various traffic norms. A fine of Rs 3.32 lakh has been imposed on the bus owners.
A total of 42 buses were found without fire extinguisher while some of them while expiry date of some had already expired. A total of 9 buses has non-functional emergency exit door while first aid kit was missing in 33 buses.
