Shivajinagar, 8th November 2021: MLA Siddharth Shirole today inspected the work of the planned flyover between Pune University Chowk and E-Square and also suggested measures to the administration to solve the traffic congestion there.

MLA Shirole has been following up with the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), PMRDA to ensure that the planned flyover is completed as soon as possible.

Government offices were closed for Diwali. After that, MLA Shirole called the officials and inspected the work of the flyover.

MLA Shirole gave detailed instructions to avoid inconvenience caused to the commuters going from University Chowk to Aundh, Baner and Senapati Bapat Road. The cycle track from the university to Shivajinagar can be used once the Metro is operational, which will increase the width of the road and reduce congestion. Also, barricades should be erected only when there is a real need.

The meeting discussed how to minimize the use of the university road by relocating some bus stands and diversion to other places. Also, work should be started on the tunnel connecting Panchwati to Senapati Bapat road so that the traffic to the law college can pass smoothly and a temporary flyover should be constructed in this area for pedestrians to cross the road, MLA Shirole suggested to the authorities.

Pune Traffic Branch DCP Rahul Shrirame was present during the inspection.
