Mohammadwadi Premier League Hits a Six: Uniting Communities through Cricket Fever In Pune

Undri, 28th October 2023: A lively cricket tournament, the “Mohammadwadi Premier League,” orchestrated by the spirited NIBM Boys and led by dedicated organizer Sadik Khan from Ganga Florentina in Mohammadwadi, has taken center stage. Coinciding with the ongoing World Cup, the tournament has ignited cricket fever, resonating across the globe.
Featuring 8 teams, each with 8 participants, the tournament boasts a lineup of spirited competitors. The teams—Gemini Stars, Gemini Warriors, NIBM Boys, FEWS (Fatima Nagar), Lions of Imperial, Elina Super Kings, Kingston A, and Kingston B—are divided into two groups: Group A and Group B. Initially, teams will compete within their groups, with the top two from each progressing to the semi-finals. The semi-finals and the final are scheduled for the following Saturday, 4th November 2023.
Participating societies include Gemini Park Avenue, Elina Living, Ganga Kingston, Imperial Tower, and members from Ganga Florentina, Nine Hills Cloud 9, and Raheja Premier.
Sadik Khan, the event organizer, stated, “Inspired by the cricket fever from the World Cup, we seized this opportunity for community building. The Mohammadwadi Premier League is fostering unity among residential societies, promoting teamwork, and cultivating a robust sense of community spirit. It transcends age and backgrounds, uniting people to celebrate the essence of cricket and camaraderie.”
The Kanade Sports in Undri will host this thrilling event on Saturday, 28th October 2023, from 7 PM to 10 PM, followed by a prize distribution ceremony after 10 PM. The tournament promises to be a compelling showcase of cricketing prowess and community engagement, bringing residents together in the spirit of sportsmanship and solidarity.
