Chatterjee Applauds Credai in the Maharashtra summit

Pune, 19 : More than 15 thousand projects could be registered with Maharera within a short span of time thanks to the joint efforts of CREDAI Maharashtra and Maharera. CREDAI Maharashtra created awareness about ‘Maharera’ Act before and after it was enacted, said ‘Maharera’ chief Gautam Chatterjee while crediting the builders’ body for Maharera registration.

Chatterjee was speaking in the second session in the summit on the subject of ‘Leadership Development’ organized by CREDAI Maharashtra which was inaugurated on Friday by Director of Urban Development Department N. R. Shende.CREDAI National President Satish Magar, CREDAI Maharashtra President Shantilal Kataria, CREDAI Maharashtra’s founder and former President Ramkumar Rath and more than 200 members from over 50 cities in the state were present on the occasion.
Chatterjee said that rules are not being fulfilled in case of some registered projects. Although such developers are notified throught emails, CREDAI should also makethem aware. Maharera will extend all assistance in this regard.

He added that the mutual trust between the customer and the developers has eroded due to some unscrupulous elements. The real estate sector will develop only when that trust is restored. In this process, the role of the Maharera is also important.

On this occasion, Shende said that Urban Development Department was in the process of bringing a uniform process all over the state. Apart from this we are trying to make the whole process online so that developers and ultimately citizens get the benefit of it. We are in the process of preparing a development plan for the next 10 to 20 years for the newly formed Municipal Councils and the Nagar Panchayat. However, we expect active participation of CREDAI in all these activities. He hoped that this would bring exchange of ideas and solve the problem.Shende also suggested to the office bearers of CREDAI to organize qa meeting with the Urban Development Department in a month or three months.

Speaking at the occasion, Kataria said that the Maharera Act could come into effect due to the vision of Gautam Chatterjee. He expressed hope that many problems related to the real estate sector would be resolved because of active officers like Shende and Chatterjee. Satish Magar, Ramkumar Rathi and Rajiv Parikh also spoke on the occasion. They expressed joy with the fact that CREDAI Maharashtra, an organization that they started with just 5 cities, has now expanded of 50 cities today.
