Pune University Signs Letter of Intent With 3 Foreign Universities For Academic Cooperation

Pune, 29th April 2024: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) is one of the top-ranking universities in India with the highest established credential in education, since 1949. As a part of the mission, SPPU has collaborated with global institutions and universities to form a Centre of Excellence in teaching, research and extension activities.

SPPU has signed various Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Letter Of Intent (LOI) with international universities from Asia, Europe, Australia, Africa and America.

Today, SPPU signed Letter of Intent with the following universities:

1. Caspian University, Kazakhstan, through their Rector, Nussenov Zholdasbek
2. East European University, Georgia through their Rector Dr. Kakhaber Lazaraahvili
3. International University of Kyrgyz Republic, Kyrgyzstan through their Rector Professor Aldararaliev Asylbek.

The main aim of signing the LOI is to serve as a general framework for academic cooperation between SPPU and the concerned universities and is intended to facilitate the development of specific independent programmes and courses presently and in the future.

Through the LOI the universities would agree to exchange students, teachers and other administrative personnel to learn and enhance each other’s functioning. It would also lay a foundation upon the essential values of learning and research and will provide the basis to promote and develop cross-cultural exchange of ideas and internationalisation of higher education. In addition, seminars, conferences and workshops will also be conducted to enrich the educational environment. The development of joint educational and research projects will be enhanced. Through the LOI, students will be provided guidance, exposure and the opportunity to enrol on specific and tailor-made courses, exclusively designed by the concerned universities etc.
