Pune, October 7, 2020: A mother struggling to seek justice for her son who was killed five years back, wrote to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray demanding justice. She stated that a celebrity’s suspicious death caught immediate attention from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), but her son’s death still remains to unsolved.
Radhabai Jadhav of Jalna said that her son Sandeep Jadhav was murdered in 2015 and his body was found in the suspicious condition under the Rajaram Bridge in Pune. She alleged that the accused in this case are still at large.
“My son was killed in Pune and no action has been taken against the culprits yet. Not everyone gets justice. A CBI probe was launched after Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide. For the last five years, I’ve been demanding an inquiry in my son’s death which has been ignored. Only rich people are getting justice,” said the devastated mother in a statement. Radhabai has demanded a CBI probe into her son’s murder so that he can get justice after his death.
In her letter to CM, she said that on November 28, 2005, her son Sandeep had an inter-caste marriage with Radhika Kunjir (Rekha) in Jalna. The couple has a son and a daughter. However, this love marriage was not accepteded by Radhika’s family and her relatives. On November 1, 2015, his body was found in a suspicious condition under the Rajaram Bridge. Radhabai alleged that her son was brutally murdered out of hatred due to the inter-caste marriage. She also narrated her struggle put forth to seek justice after the case and alleged that corrupt police officers are making it difficult to get justice.
“Senior police officers should be appointed to investigate the issues raised in the application in detail. If the allegations made during the investigation are true, they should be hanged directly. On June 14, 2020, actor Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide. Within three months, after political, social media and public support, the investigation into the suspicious incident was handed over to the CBI by the government. I have been struggling for the last five years to find out the real reason behind the suspicious death of my son,” said Radhabai.
Earlier, Warje Malwadi police had registered an abetment of suicide case against Sandeep’s in-laws, claiming he had jumped from the bridge. Police had claimed that the in-laws were not allowing the couple to live together and he was upset.
