Pune, 28th December 2023: In a significant move, the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has ordered the cancellation of ST stops at three hotels along the Pune-Solapur highway. The Depot Heads of the MSRTC have been directed not to halt ST buses at these hotels from Friday (28th December).

The Pune-Solapur highway serves as a crucial route for bus services, connecting various pilgrimage sites and catering to passengers from Pune, Solapur, Latur, Dharashiv (Osmanabad), Pandharpur, Indapur, Barshi, Tuljapur, and other locations. The ST Corporation had established official stops at different hotels to provide food and breakfast to passengers and drivers. However, numerous complaints were received by the ST administration regarding inadequate facilities, rude behavior from hotel staff, and issues with the quality of food.

The complaints, neglected for an extended period, prompted some passengers to escalate the matter to the Food Administration Department. Additionally, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Indapur MLA Dattatreya Bharne received written complaints from passengers, leading to further scrutiny. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s Ganesh Akhade, along with other people’s representatives, also submitted complaints to the ST administration.

As a result of the investigation, the Divisional Controller of the Pune Division of the MSRTC took action by closing three official bus stops in the district.

Closed Stops:
1. ST bus stops at Hotel Uday Veg Non Veg at Dalaj No. 3 in Indapur Taluka, Pune district
2. Sai Sagar at Khadki (Taluka Daund)
3. Hotel Pancharatna at Swami Chincholi (Taluka Daund)
