Pune, 28th December 2023: As the annual Bhima Koregaon Shaurya Day approaches, drawing thousands of followers to Koregaon Bhima, Pune Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr addressed the media in a press conference outlining comprehensive preparations.
In light of the anticipated influx of lakhs of people, an extensive inspection of the Koregaon Bhima area has been successfully completed. The police force, in large numbers, is poised for deployment to ensure the smooth conduct of the event. Commissioner of Police Kumaarr will personally oversee the security arrangements at Bhima Koregaon.
A robust security apparatus, comprising a total of 3200 police personnel and officers, including 700 Home Guards and six units of State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), has been strategically positioned to manage the crowd and maintain law and order.
Commissioner Kumaarr emphasized the commitment of Pune Police to uphold public safety during the festivities. He stated, “We are leaving no stone unturned to ensure a secure environment for the followers gathering at Bhima Koregaon. Our primary goal is to facilitate a peaceful celebration of Bhima Koregaon Shaurya Day.”
In addition to physical security measures, Pune Police will be vigilant on social media platforms. The Police Commissioner warned that any individual found posting controversial content will be detained, and appropriate legal action will be taken against them.
