MSRTC Starts Electric Buses Between Pune And Nashik, Pune-Kolhapur To Also Start Soon

Pune 11th August 2023: The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has expanded the connectivity of electric buses ‘Shivai’ from Pune as 18 more buses were announced between Pune and Nashik. The buses will start running from Friday and the bus fare between the two cities will be Rs 475 while women passengers will receive 50% discount on the fare as earlier announced by the state government, said officials.

The first electric bus was launched by MSRTC last year between Pune and Ahmednagar. Later, the connectivity was increased and more buses were started between Pune and Aurangabad and Pune and Mumbai. The officials have also said that the electric buses will also operate between Pune and Kolhapur and the fare will remain Rs 475. A total of 12 buses will be alloted for this route.

The Shivai bus for Nashik will leave from Wakdewadi, Shivajinagar while for Kolhapur the bus will leave from Swargate Bus Depot. Currently, a total of 41 electric buses are operating from MSRTC’s Pune division. The bus has received a good response on the Pune – Aurangabad route and Pune – Mumbai route since its launch.
