Pune 18th August 2023: The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation Limited (MSRTC) will soon start a sleeper bus service between Pune and Nagpur. Manufactured at MSRTC’s centralised workshop in Pune, the buses are soon likely to be introduced to several long distance routes. This will play an important role as alternative to commuters who often pay heavy fare to private travels during peak season.

According to officials, the bus having a capacity of 45 seats will have 15 seats for sleeper and 30 will be for seating and the MSRTC will operate two buses every day. They will leave at 12 pm and 5 pm from Pune and Nagpur and it will travel via Amravati and not take Samruddhi Expressway route.

It may be noted that a large number of people from Pune travel to Nagpur to reach their homes in different districts in Vidarbha during festive seasons. They have to pay heavy fare to the private travels as the ticket fare increases to two to three times higher than normal during this period. According to officials, the MSRTC will charge Rs 1400 for sleeper ticket on this bus.
