Pune, September 7, 2020: While the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) has decided to reopen its resorts to tourists, two out of six resorts in the Pune division will not be opened due to the Coronavirus situation. The resorts at Mahabaleshwar and Panshet will not be opened yet due to the prevalence of Coronavirus cases in these areas. Online bookings have begun at the rest of the resorts.

In Pune division, there are six MTDC resorts at Mahabaleshwar, Panshet, Matheran, Malshej, Karla and Bhimashankar. “The number of COVID-19 cases at Mahabaleshwar and Panshet is quite high, so these resorts will remain unoperational as of now. MTDC has mentioned all the measures that it has taken in order to ensure safety and hygiene at the resorts on its website, along with information on the tourist spots, places to eat, etc.
