Mumbai: NCB Arrests Rhea Chakraborty For Procuring Drugs

Pune, September 8, 2020: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), after three days of consecutive questioning today arrested Rhea Chakraborty for consuming and procuring drugs.
KPS Malhotra, deputy director of NCB said, “We have arrested Rhea Chakraborty and the process of informing her family has been completed.”
The NCB was questioning Rhea in connection with consumption, peddling and abuse of drugs in association with the death of the actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The questioning lasted eight hours on Monday and around six hours on Sunday.
Rhea Chakraborty (28) was in the line of questioning along with her brother Showik Chakraborty (24), Sushant’s house manager Samuel Miranda (33) and his house staffer Dipesh Sawant. All these people are suspected to be a part of a drug racket.
The NCB had last week arrested the three men to ascertain their roles in an alleged drug racket and have now arrested Rhea Chakraborty.
The agency had also said that they had accessed Rhea’s phone call records and chat history which indicated that these people were involved in the procurement and consumption of banned drugs. Rhea’s family and lawyer had anticipated her arrest after her younger brother was arrested last week.
Rhea was also being questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) because of the multiple angles involved in the controversial death of Rajput.
