Mumbai-Pune: Temporary Traffic Disruption on Mumbai-Pune Expressway for Gantry Installation on November 23

Mumbai-Pune, 22nd November 2023: In a planned operation under the Highway Traffic Management System, the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation is set to erect a gantry at km 35/500 on the Mumbai–Pune Expressway (Yashwantrao Chavan Expressway), resulting in a complete blockage of traffic from Pune to Mumbai on the affected stretch from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on November 23.

During the specified period, light vehicles bound for Mumbai from Pune will be diverted from Magic Point KM No. 42/100. The alternate route will guide vehicles through State Highway No. 48, the Old Mumbai Pune Highway, leading to the Shedung Toll Plaza at Khopoli City. Alternatively, vehicles can take the route via Indira Nagar Chowk at Khopoli City, travelling through the Mumbai Channel on the Expressway.

For light vehicles and buses travelling from Pune to Mumbai, diversion will take place from Khopoli Exit Km No. 39/800. These vehicles will be rerouted through State Highway No. 48, the Old Mumbai Pune Highway, either reaching the Shedung Toll Plaza or taking the Indira Nagar Chowk route in Khopoli City via the Mumbai Channel on the Expressway.

The traffic block is scheduled to last from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on November 23. Once the installation of the gantry is completed, normal traffic flow from Pune to Mumbai on the expressway is expected to resume at 2:00 PM.
