Municipal Commissioner Deprived Of Rights Under PM Housing Scheme

Pune, 18 August 2021: After pointing fingers towards each other, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has removed the rights of the municipal commissioner to take the decision of developing of the housing scheme through PPP.

Apparently, the standing committee had permitted the rights to commissioner to take final decision for the allotment of the housing scheme under Prime Minister housing scheme. But ruling BJP removed this right saying that the main assembly will take the final decision.

Now, the builders will have to wait for the permission from both the Standing committee and main assembly. Under PM housing scheme, Phursungi, Lohegaon, Baner and Balewadi spots have been identified where through the Public Private Partnership (PPP) the houses will be built.
After the bidding process, the builder who has won will get the land ownership.
