National Nutrition Week: Noble Hospital Organises Awareness, Free Counselling Sessions On Nutrition And Healthy Food

Pune, 7th September 2021: In a bid to create awareness on nutrition and diet which is a key to good health, Noble hospital has come up with a two-day awareness and counselling program. The hospital will be celebrating the ongoing ‘national nutrition week’ by creating awareness on nutrition and healthy eating.

On September six and seven, between 10.30 am to 2.30 pm, Noble hospital has arranged free consultation from experts as well as a free BMI check-up camp. The hospital authority has mentioned that anybody who is interested can walk in on the day and consult the experts, The hospital authority informed that they are also arranging a healthy cooking competition for hospital staff and patients. Special awareness sessions are arranged for housekeeping and security staff on nutrition and healthy eating.

 

A team of experts from the hospital will be guiding on topics like nutrition, balanced diet, role of protein in the Indian diet, detoxification process, role of magical foods from our kitchen etc.

 

Dr Sarika Satav, Head of Department of Nutrition and Dietetics from Noble Hospital, Pune, said, “Normally when we speak of diet and nutrition people associate it with weight loss. But diet is not only associated with weight loss. Actually, nutrition is nourishing your body with real, whole foods so that you are consistently satisfied and energised to live life to the fullest. In a multi-speciality hospital like Noble, we associate diet with illness and wellness. We craft special diet plans for not only diabetic patients but for patients suffering from different diseases. Following healthy food practices help us to get cured and treated early. It helps in reducing the hospital stay.”

 

India is celebrating ‘National Nutrition Week’ from September one to seven. The hospital authority mentioned that an exhibition displaying different seeds, magical foods from our kitchen, protein food awareness, and some detox recipes with their valuable contribution to our health will be arranged in the hospital. The models of a balanced meal and a hospital meal for a diabetic patient will also be kept for people’s awareness.

 

Dr Satav added, “We will be counselling people according to their BMI report and the disease history. Healthy food is a key to a healthy body. With this initiative, we want to focus on preventive aspects. Disease burden will be reduced if everyone is aware of what they are eating and what they should be eating.”
