NCC Republic Day Camp 2024 Kicks Off with 2,274 Cadets, Including Record 907 Girls Participation

Delhi, 30th December 2023: The Cariappa Parade Ground at Delhi Cantt resonated with the inauguration of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Republic Day Camp 2024, marked by a Sarva Dharma Puja on December 30, 2023. With an impressive turnout, this year’s month-long camp witnesses a total of 2,274 enthusiastic cadets hailing from all 28 States and eight Union Territories. Notably, this edition of the camp boasts the highest-ever participation of girls, with 907 young women proudly taking part in the prestigious event.

Embracing diversity, the camp welcomes 122 cadets from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, alongside 171 cadets representing the vibrant North-Eastern Region, epitomizing a miniature yet vibrant reflection of ‘Mini India’.

Highlighting the global camaraderie and exchange of ideas, the Youth Exchange Programme features the active involvement of cadets and officers from 25 friendly nations. Countries such as Argentina, Botswana, Bhutan, Brazil, Czech Republic, Fiji, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Nepal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Seychelles, Tajikistan, UK, Venezuela, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Nigeria, Mauritius, and Mozambique contribute to the camp’s international dimension.

Addressing the cadets, DG NCC Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh urged them to wholeheartedly engage in every activity offered during the camp, emphasizing the significance of character, integrity, selfless service, comradeship, and teamwork. He encouraged the young participants to transcend barriers of religion, language, and caste, emphasizing the ethos of putting the nation first.

The Republic Day Camp stands as a beacon for instilling patriotism, discipline, and leadership qualities among the cadets. This annual congregation serves as a platform for comprehensive training, cultural immersion, and active engagement in social service initiatives, fostering unity and instilling a profound sense of pride.
