The journey of knowledge is called research – Dr Pradeep Apte

Pune, 30 December 2023: Savitribai Phule Pune University Lifelong Studies and Extension Department and Camp Education Society, in association with Arvind Telang College, Nigdi, organised a one-day workshop on Research Methodology.

This workshop was attended by well known scholars from various departments.

The guests of honour for the workshop Dr. Pradeep Apte, Professor at Fergusson College and Gokhale Economics Department as well as Director of Lifelong Learning and Extension Department and Professor and Head of the Economics Department of Savitribai Phule Pune University Dr. Vilas Adhav graced the occasion by their presence.

Dr. Pradeep Apte presented the subject of research in a very simple manner. Talking about research, he commented on research in Geography and Economics, solving the mystery since human birth. While expressing his opinion, he said that the journey of knowledge is called research and it is this journey, that man discovers gradually and develops as science for further research. He also further added that research requires a lot of curiosity and talent.

Next, Dr. Vilas Adhav expressed his views and said that, research requires consistency and questioning. He added that many mysterious things can be understood only if a question is asked.

In the second session of this workshop, Prof. Dr. Kiran Randive, Department of Botany, Annasaheb Magar College, Hadapsar, gave guidance on the subject of scientific research methods and publication. He said that, while conducting any research, the researcher needs to be consistent, persistent, and determined for research. Expressing his opinion, he asserted that research need not be done in a large form, research can be done in a small form as well, research should be done in such an area where no research has been done prior. Our research should be for the society, for the students, for the country and for everyone in the world. He also said that research cannot be started without asking the question why.

This workshop was well organised by the Principal of the college, Dr. Prakash Patil. It was introduced and co – ordinated under the able guidance of Prof.Dr. Sangeeta Salve

Prof. Manisha Sonawane carried out the workshop well and Dr Ganesh Bhame proposed the vote of thanks. Prof Vanita Lingayat , Vishal Wankhede and All the professors and students of the college actively participated in organising the program.
