Need to Cooperate And Come Together to face Cyber Crime Challenges

“Cyber Technology is a now a part of our lives but increasing number of Cyber attacks has become a crisis all over the world and therefore the time has come for all the Central, State & other international stakeholders in the country to cooperate and come together to face the challenge.” This was stated by Union Minister for Communication and Information Technology Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad at the seminar “ IT & Cyber Crime – Challenges faced by Indian and International Organisations.” organised by Indo American Chamber of Commerce and Global Insurance .
Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad further said that there was a need to bring a suitable Act on the subject and a committee needed to be set up to resolve issues of cyber crimes .
The Union Minister said two years of the Digital India Mission had transformed India in many a ways. This included massive expansion of Optical Fibre Network to the Gram panchayats, significant increase in the number of Common Service Centre (CSCs , Rural BPO’s Growth of mobile network, transformation of BSNL and an increase in FDI in telecom sector.
While during 2011 to June 2014 only 358 km of optical fibre was laid for Gram Panchayats , nearly 1,15,783 kms of optic fibre lines , was laid for 50732 villages during the last two years. While in 2014 , 83000 Common Service Centre were there in country, by May 2016 – the numbers had increased to 2.05 Lakh (CSCs).The best example of transforming India was Aadhar enrolment. He said that his Ministry had given a digital identity to every Indian. Now 1.47 lakh Indians could avail direct transfer benefit to their accounts.
