NEET-PG 2025 Scheduled for June 15; Two-Shift Format Sparks Concerns

New Delhi, 18th March 2025: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has set June 15 as the date for NEET-PG 2025. However, a major change in the exam format has raised concerns among aspirants and parents—this year, the test will be conducted in two separate shifts.
Many candidates fear that varying difficulty levels across shifts could impact their scores despite the normalization process used to balance discrepancies. Parents have also voiced their concerns, urging authorities to reconsider the decision.
“A single-shift examination ensures fairness, as all candidates face the same level of difficulty. With multiple shifts, normalization methods often lead to inconsistencies and dissatisfaction,” said Brijesh Sutaria, a parent representative advocating for a uniform exam process.
The NEET-PG 2024 cycle was plagued by delays and legal hurdles, adding to the anxiety of medical graduates. Stakeholders now worry that the two-shift format may lead to fresh grievances and legal battles.
“Given last year’s complications, it is crucial for NBEMS to uphold transparency and fairness in the examination process. If concerns about multiple shifts are not addressed, students may be forced to approach the courts,” Sutaria added.
As NEET-PG remains a critical gateway for postgraduate medical admissions in India, aspirants are hoping for a smooth and unbiased selection process. Whether the board will reconsider its decision remains to be seen.
