Nepal government opened 30 entry points on borders with India and China

New Delhi, January 30, 2021: Nepal government has opened its 30 entry points on the borders with India and China. It also includes borders adjoining North Bihar besides Birgunj. Since March 24 last year, the borders were closed due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Nepal’s Ministry of Home Affairs issued the order and announced the border’s opening, on Friday. Nepal citizens have been allowed uninterrupted movement while conditions are applied to Indian citizens.

India had opened its border with Nepal on 22 October itself. Since then, various Nepalese associations and institutions have been agitating to open the border with India.

According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Nepal government, Chakra Bahadur Budha, the Ministry’ s approval is mandatory for Indian citizens to visit Nepal. Also, they have to mention the reason for visiting Nepal. The visitor will get entry into Nepal only after acquiring permission. However, third-country citizens are not allowed through the land route. However, they can come by flight.

Indian citizens will need permission from Nepal’s Ministry of Home Affairs. One has to apply online on the CCM website attached to the covid Control High-Level Committee. In this, the reason, duration, the purpose of the trip will have to be provided. They will get a barcode from the ministry with permission. Along with this, the applicant will have to show the report of RT PCR within 72 hours. The travel period’s custom duty will have to be paid if the vehicle is allowed.

Khajurgachhi, Bhattabari, Kanoul, Jatahi, Inarwa, Bhittamod, Malangwa, Bankool, Matiarwa, Simraungarh, Triveni, Madar, Gaur, and Birgunj borders have been opened adjoining the Bihar.
