NIA CHARGESHEETS 2 IN CPI (Maoist) MAGADH ZONE NAXALISM REVIVAL CASE New Delhi, 3rd February 2024

New Delhi, 03 Febuary 2023: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday chargesheeted two accused in the case relating to revival of violent naxalism in Bihar’s Magadh Zone by the proscribed Naxal organisation, CPI (Maoist).
The chargesheet filed before NIA Special Court, Patna, Bihar, names
Rohit Rai @ Prakash @ Manoj @ Patrakaar @ Netaji, of Kaimur district of Bihar, and Pramod Yadav @ Pramod Kumar of Aurangabad district of the state.
As per NIA investigations, Rohit was holding the rank of Sub Zonal Commander, and was motivating the cadres in his area for furthering Maoist ideology. He was involved in collection of levy and also trying to recruit vulnerable youth for the CPI (Maoist) in his area. He has been chargesheeted under sections 120B, 121A of the IPC, sections 25(1-b)a, 25(1-A), 26 & 35 of Arms Act, and sections 17, 18, 18B, 20,38 and 40 of the UA(P) Act 1967.
Pramod Yadav is  a Politburo Member of CPI (Maoist) and was attempting to revive the Maoist movement in North Bihar and Eastern UP, besides raising funds for the banned terrorist organisation. He has been chargesheeted under sections 120B, 121A of the IPC, sections 25(1-b)a, 26  of Arms Act and sections 17, 18, 20,38, 39 and 40 of the UA(P) Act 1967.
The two men were arrested following recovery and seizure of 2 Pistols, along with live rounds, a booklet of Magadh Zonal Sangathanic Committee, levy receipts in the name of CPI (Maoist), and one mobike.
NIA had taken up investigations of the case on 26th September 2023 and had found that Rohit Rai, along with Pramod Yadav and others, had conducted a meeting in Mahi Village, Aurangabad on 8th June 2023
for revival of CPI(Maoist) in Magadh Zone for the purpose of collection of levy from business establishments, contractors, toll plazas and other such entities for strengthening the activities of the organisation. They were engaged in motivating and recruiting more cadres to carry out illegal activities to further their aim and authority.
Investigations had further revealed that besides raising funds, the accused were involved in organizing meetings of various persons with top level leaders of CPI (Maoist). They were also actively involved in propagating the ideology of the banned outfit.
The duo also had previous criminal records and FIRs against their names in Kaimur and Aurangabad districts of Bihar.
Further investigations in the case are continuing.
