Now Passport Application Can Be Verified With Digilocker Documents

Delhi, 17 February 2021: Ministry of external affairs has integrated PSP application with Digilocker Passport Seva Project has registered itself as a ‘requester’ with the Digilocker to enable real time access and verification of documents online. Giving relief from carrying and submitting crucial documents in hard copy, now passport applicants can share their vital documents like birth and address proof from Digilocker as it has been integrated with Passport Seva Project. Facility has been launched from February 1.

Digilocker, one of the key initiatives under Digital India drive, is aimed at eliminating the usage of physical documents and enable sharing of e-documents with Passport Seva via a mechanism to verify the authenticity of documents online. Applicants can attach the documents from their Digilocker account to Passport Seva system while filling the passport application form. At present following documents may be accepted from Digilocker for providing passport and related services:
⦁ Class 10 Certificate/Mark sheet
⦁ Pan Card
⦁ Driving License
⦁ Voter I.D. Card
⦁ E-Aadhaar
