Over 52k Commuters Use Metro Service On Saturday, New Record In Pune Metro’s History

Pune 6th August 2023: The ridership on Pune Metro recorded the highest jump on Saturday as 52,400 commuters used the train in a day after an inauguration of extended routes. This was the highest passenger count recorded by Pune Metro since its launch last year. The two extended routes between Civil Court to Phugewadi and Garware College to Ruby Hall Clinic were inaugurated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi at an event held on August 2.

According to Metro officials, a total of around 30,000 commuters used the Metro service on August 2 while the number of passengers remained almost same on the next day. On Friday, around 32,000 passengers used the service and the number rose to 52,400 on Saturday by creating a new record in the Pune Metro’s history.

It may be noted that the Pune Metro is offering 30% discount on the ticket fare on Saturday and Sunday. The students using Metro service are offered the discount on all days.
