Over 70% Work Completed Across 20 Stations in Pune Division Under Amrit Bharat Scheme

Pune, 15th April 2025: More than 70% of infrastructure and facility development has been completed across 20 railway stations in the Pune Division under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The Indian Railways initiative aims to transform key stations into modern, accessible, and passenger-friendly hubs with integrated urban connectivity.

A review of the Phase 1 progress report highlights extensive work completed at stations such as Talegaon, Hadapsar, Kolhapur, Kedgaon, and Lohand, with others showing substantial progress across core facilities.

At Talegaon station, completed works include the portico, reservation office, platform surfacing, toilet blocks, station master room, and VIP room. Ongoing works include development of the parking area, circulating area, pathway, waiting hall, compound wall, and installation of FOB, lifts, and escalators.

Dehu Road station has completed the DG room. Downside and upside COP structures are under construction, with several columns erected. Toilet block construction is in progress. Facade development, portico, illumination, signage, and a second entry gate are yet to commence.

Akurdi station has seen completion of the toilet block, waiting area, COP, and UGWT. Plumbing work on the water booth, new waiting areas, building fronts, and surfacing continue to progress. Additional work is underway at the PCMC toilet block, boundary wall, and FOB.

Chinchwad station has finished constructing the new RPF Thana and booking office extensions. The waiting area, OHE room, new toilet blocks, and renovation of offices are in progress. Platform surface improvement and water booth renovations are yet to begin.

Hadapsar station has completed Building A and C, including restrooms, waiting rooms, and cloak rooms. Building B and D are under construction. COP erection is finished with drainage works ongoing. Platform surfacing and FOB work are also progressing.

Uruli station has completed PF surface work, COP, and toilet blocks. Finishing works on the VIP waiting hall, booking hall, chequered tile fixing, and circulating area are ongoing.

Kopargaon station has completed façade work, PF shelter, platform surfacing, and waiting hall construction. Renovation of toilet blocks is in progress.

Belapur station reports completed PF surfacing, waiting hall, and PF shelters. Work continues on service buildings, reservation hall, circulating area, and additional surfacing.

Daund station has completed repairs to existing buildings and platform surfacing. Work is ongoing on the powerhouse area road, PF shelters, relocation of units, and water stand improvements.

Ahmednagar station has completed landscaping, Divyangjan toilets, extended circulating area, PF shelters, and waiting halls. Improvement work on new buildings is in progress.

Sangali station has completed COP on PF-1 and a new booking office. Ongoing works include portico construction, circulation and parking areas, facade, waiting rooms, PF surfacing, FOB, and compound wall.

Hathkalangale station has completed a retaining wall. Ongoing work includes construction of PF shelter, surfacing, waiting hall, and toilet blocks. Circulating and parking areas are nearing completion.

Kolhapur station has completed the AC waiting room and platform surfacing. Renovation and construction work continues on the main building, reservation room, portico, booking office, entry gate, and illumination systems.

Phaltan station has completed COP, PF surface, compound wall, Divyangjan facilities, and ramp work.

Satara station has completed the upper class waiting room. Works in progress include VIP and ladies waiting rooms, public toilets, portico, entry gate, COP, and the multi-platform FOB.

Karad station has completed PF-1 waiting room and compound wall. Ongoing work includes portico, entrance, parking area, entrance lobby, and circulating area.

Kedgaon station reports full completion of all core facilities, including COP, toilet blocks, booking office, illumination, portico, and seating.

Baramati station has completed COP, toilet blocks, compound wall, and septic tank. Work continues on the veranda, waiting room toilets, portico, surface finishing, booking office renovation, and circulating area.

Lohand station has fully completed its COP, platform surfacing, entrance hall, gate, portico, compound wall, circulation area, parking, and seating facilities. Illumination is also operational.

Wathar station has completed COP and union office construction. Entry gate, compound wall, parking, booking office renovation, and portico work are progressing. Platform improvement is also underway.

The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme is aimed at long-term station transformation by enhancing accessibility, passenger amenities, digital integration, clean energy use, landscaping, and multimodal connectivity. It includes provisions for Divyangjan-friendly facilities, roof plazas, local product kiosks under the ‘One Station One Product’ initiative, and space for business lounges.

The upgrade across Pune Division stations marks a decisive move toward passenger-centric modernization, blending infrastructure with sustainable and inclusive growth models.
