Over 7,000 Vehicles Fined For Speeding On Pune-Mumbai Expressway In 10 Months, Rs 1 Crore Fine Imposed

Pune, 13th November 2022: More than 7,000 vehicles have been fined for speeding over the speed limit on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway. In the last 10 months, more than one crore penalties have to be paid.

 

From January 1 to October 31, penal action was taken against 7,325 vehicle drivers. A fine of Rs one crore has been imposed. For exceeding the speed limit, light vehicles are fined Rs 2,000 and heavy vehicles are fined Rs 4,000.

The speed limit for the light vehicle travelling on Pune Mumbai Expressway is 100 kmph and for vehicles with more than nine passengers capacity is 80 kmph. If this is violated, a fine is imposed when the number of the vehicle is seen in the CCTV cameras on the expressway.
