Pait-Khed Road Accident: Ajit Pawar Announces Rs 4 Lakh Aid for Victims’ Families
Mumbai/Pune, 11th August 2025: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Pune District Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar has termed the tragic road accident near Pait (Khed taluka) as “extremely unfortunate and painful” and assured that the state government will provide all possible assistance to the victims.
The accident occurred when a pickup vehicle carrying women pilgrims to Shri Kshetra Kundeshwar plunged into a deep gorge. Pawar expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and paid tribute to the deceased.
Following the incident, local residents, police, and health department officials immediately launched rescue and relief operations. The injured have been admitted to nearby government and private hospitals for urgent treatment. Pawar has directed officials to ensure that all necessary medical aid is provided without delay and ordered senior officers to supervise relief work at the site.
The state government will provide ₹4 lakh in financial assistance to the next of kin of each deceased, Pawar confirmed, adding that the administration stands firmly with the affected families during this difficult time.
