Panthers Clinch Title at Poona Club Deccan Gymkhana Super Cricket League 2026
Pune, April 28, 2026: Panthers emerged champions of the Poona Club Deccan Gymkhana Super Cricket League 2026, organized by Poona Club Ltd in association with Deccan Gymkhana and played at the Poona Club Cricket Ground. In an exciting final, Panthers defeated Sailors by 8 wickets to lift the trophy.
The winning team Panthers were awarded the trophy at the hands of Mr. Gaurav Gadhoke, President of Poona Club Ltd, and Mr. Mihir Kelkar, Hon. Secretary of Deccan Gymkhana.
Chasing a target of 87 runs, Panthers rode on a brilliant unbeaten knock by Shrinivas Chaphalkar, who scored 42 off just 13 balls, well supported by Gaurav Chaphalkar (23* off 13 balls), to seal victory in just 5.4 overs. Earlier, Sailors posted 86/3 in their 6 overs, with Shiv Kirloskar top-scoring with 48 off 19 balls and Rounak Dhole Patil contributing 24 off 10 balls.
Shrinivas Chaphalkar also impressed with the ball, picking up 2 wickets for 14 runs, while Ajinkya Mehta chipped in with one wicket.
