Passenger Conflict Over Seats Leads to Arrest of Fake Ticket Fraudster at Pune Railway Station

Pune, 24th December 2024: Pune Division RPF has arrested a man was making fraud messages of reserved ticket booking on mobile and sending it to helpless passengers whom he was trapping in booking and circulating area of Railway station On 23rd Dec 2024.
The 1st such information was received through G. S. Rajapure TTE working in Jhelum express which alerted Railway Administration about such fraud. Immediately a team of RPF officials including inspector Sunil Kumar Yadav, ASI Santosh Jaibhaye, Constable Yuvraj Gaikwad and Cyber cell specialist was formed who managed to track the details based on the mobile number of the accused.
The number in message was PNR 8451236947 Train No. 11077 Jhelum Express of 17.12.2024, Class- Sleeper, Pune-New Delhi, passenger name- Deependra+1 & seat no. S/2-63/71, fare-₹1980, fee 47.7+PG+Agent CHGS . A charge of ₹2000/ in cash was collected by the fraudster with assurance that their seat as mentioned in ticket is confirmed.
During journey on the said seat, when altercation between two sets of passengers started, this alerted the TTE who on further enquiry, found the full detail and shared it with DRM Office.
On this information, all ground work was done and information was collected about the culprit having mobile number 9158720449 named Praveen Kumar Madhular Londhe, resident Gotkhindi, Village- Valwa, Distt- Sangli. Detailed scrutiny of CCTV footage was done.
Again on 22.12.2024 similar fraud happened against a passengers and information was received by on duty TTE Shri G. S. Rajapure.
On 23. 12.2024 the RPF team in plain clothes kept a watch over booking office activities and found a person circulating there in suspicious manner. On enquiry he mentioned his name as Madhukar Londhe and he was brought to RPF Thana where he accepted his crime. His mobile also confirmed the messages and he accepted to cheating of passengers by mixing up with them in queue and cheating them by assuring ticket confirmation through Rly officials and thus sending manipulated messages to collect money.
The case has been handed over to GRP Pune who have registered a case No. 780/2024 dated 23.12.2024 under Section 316(2), 318(4) 2023 of BNS. This case is investigated by PSI Nazre.
