Pune, 29th July 2025: In a major boost to passenger satisfaction standards, Pune Airport has jumped from 59th to 57th place in global rankings for service quality, while climbing from fourth to second place within India, according to the latest ACI-ASQ survey for April to June 2025.

The Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey, jointly conducted by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and Canada-based Airport Council International (ACI), assessed around 500 airports worldwide, including 16 airports across India. Pune Airport was evaluated under the ‘Best Airport by Size’ category.

According to the report, Pune Airport improved its performance in 27 out of 31 criteria, covering aspects like toilet cleanliness, terminal sanitation, check-in and security counter wait time, staff interaction, and quality of food stalls.

However, the survey also highlighted shortcomings in four key areas:
Difficulty in reaching the airport on time.
Lack of courteousness among airline staff.
Inadequate support from staff during check-in.
Poor engagement from food stall staff.
Despite these concerns, the overall improvement has been significant. Experts believe continued focus on passenger-centric services will further elevate Pune Airport’s performance.

The ACI-ASQ survey collects direct feedback from passengers and is considered one of the most credible global benchmarks for airport service quality. The AAI uses these findings to enhance operational standards across its managed airports.
