Gahunje, 29th July 2025: A disturbing incident has come to light from the Lodha Society in Gahunje, Pune, where a minor boy was brutally assaulted by Kishore Bhegde, the nephew of former Maval Assembly election candidate Bapu Bhegde. The accused, who is a repeat offender with a serious criminal history, has been arrested following a complaint filed at the Shirgaon Police Station, Pimpri Chinchwad police.

According to police, the assault occurred after an argument broke out among a group of children, including Kishore Bhegde’s son, while they were playing inside the society’s clubhouse. Upon learning of the argument, Kishore Bhegde allegedly stormed into the premises and physically attacked the children.

A video of the incident has surfaced, showing Bhegde kicking a minor boy in the stomach, sparking outrage among local residents and social media users. The boy sustained injuries and was reportedly terrified by the sudden attack.

“An FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Juvenile Justice Act,” said an officer from Shirgaon Police Station. “The accused, Kishore Bhegde, has been taken into custody and will be produced before the court.”

Police have confirmed that Bhegde is a history-sheeter, with multiple serious cases registered against him, including murder, attempt to murder, and assault. This latest incident adds to his long list of criminal activities, raising questions about how such individuals continue to operate unchecked in residential societies.

Despite attempts by residents to intervene during the attack, Bhegde allegedly continued beating the children. The case has prompted local citizens to demand stricter security protocols and quicker police response in gated communities.

Further investigation is underway. Police are also examining the CCTV footage and the viral video for evidence to strengthen the case.
