Delhi/Pune, 28th November 2023: An Air India flight, I5 738, scheduled from Delhi to Pune via Lucknow, encountered a significant delay of approximately four hours due to reported operational complications. This unexpected disruption left passengers frustrated and agitated.

Expressing his dismay, Shaban Shaikh, a passenger on the flight, took to Twitter, stating, “Our Delhi to Pune via Lucknow flight (I5 738) has been delayed by several hours. The flight made it to Lucknow but never landed and was sent back to Delhi. Our arrival was at 5 pm in Pune, and now we are still stuck in Delhi. The crew has left. Nobody has a clue. Help us.”

Another passenger, Omkar Nalawade, also voiced his frustration on Twitter, saying, “Flight I5-738 Delhi-Lucknow-Pune. What a joke it is!!! As per the update, the pilot is not trained to land in a little foggy situation where other flights are getting landed and taking off on time. Now we have 3 more hours to explore Lucknow.”

He later added, “And again delayed by 1hr 5min ? shouldn’t get more worse.”

In response to Shaban’s tweet, Air India Express issued an apology, stating, “Shaban, please accept our sincere apologies for the disruption of your flight. We understand how frustrating and inconvenient this situation must have been for you and your travel plans. Please note that the disruption was due to operational reasons. The updated ETD is 17:20 for your flight. Reach out to our staff if any assistance is required.”

Shaban has expressed his discontent by requesting a partial refund of the ticket fare.

The delay significantly disrupted the travel plans of those on board, sparking discontent among passengers who were expecting a timely arrival at their destination.
