PCMC: 1.5-month-old boy, his 4-year-old brother beat Coronavirus

Pimpri Chinchwad, May 17, 2020: A one-and-half month old boy and his four-year-old brother beat Coronavirus and got discharged from hospital on Sunday afternoon. They are among the six patients who returned home today after they fully recovered from COVID19. They were admitted at Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial (YCM) Hospital in Pimpri, where they completed 14 days treatment and have now fully recovered. The kids are residents of Sambhajinagar in Chinchwad.

Their mother had gone to her parents’ house in Nerul for delivery. She returned here after one month. After she found that the kids had a mild fever. They were admitted to YCM hospital for treatment. The doctors immediately took their swab for COVID -19 test and both the kids were tested positive. Their maternal grandfather also tested positive of COVID19. The woman had tested negative.

The kids were treated under the guidance of YCM hospital Dean Dr Rajendra Wable and Medical Superintendent Dr Aniket Lathi, by a team led by Head of Pediatrics Dr Deepali Ambike, Medical Officer Dr Sandhya Haribhakt, Dr Seema Soni, Dr Suryakant Mundlod, Dr Nupur Katre, Dr Sheetal Khade, Dr Prajakta Kadam, Dr Gaurav Sharma, Dr Sabahat Ahmed, Dr Abhijeet Bale, Dr Rizwana Syed, Dr Komal Bijarania and all the nurses.

The number of Coronavirus positive patients admitted in YCM and Bhosari hospitals in Pimpri Chinchwad has reached 204 till date. Nine people were found COVID positive today. Also, six patients recovered and went home today. Out of 204 patients, 125 have been cured and discharged from hospitals while four have died. At present, 75 people are undergoing treatment.
