PCMC Cracks Down On Illegal Hoardings Featuring MLAs In Pimpri-Chinchwad; Citizens Show Solidarity
Pimpri, 9th April 2025: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has intensified its crackdown on unauthorized hoardings across the city, taking action even against banners featuring political leaders. In a recent move, the civic body removed illegal hoardings displaying photos of MLA Shankar Jagtap and MLA Mahesh Landge from ‘G’ and ‘H’ wards, earning public praise for its impartial approach.
This crackdown follows a stern warning issued by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who had recently instructed local authorities and police to take strict action against all unauthorized hoardings, regardless of the political affiliation of those featured. He had emphasized that no one should be exempt from such actions, setting a clear tone for enforcement.
Acting on these directives, the PCMC swiftly removed the banners featuring the two MLAs. The move has been welcomed by residents, who have lauded the municipal corporation for showing consistency and neutrality. Citizens have also urged the PCMC to continue this momentum to ensure the city remains free from visual clutter caused by illegal hoardings.
