Pune, 9th April 2025: In connection with the recent death of a pregnant woman, Eeshwari (Tanisha) Bhise, the Charity Commissioner Office submitted a detailed investigation report to the Maharashtra State Government on Tuesday (8th April). The inquiry was initiated under the directives of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, focusing on whether Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital violated any regulations in the case.

The incident sparked widespread concern after allegations surfaced that the hospital denied treatment due to financial reasons, leading to the woman’s death. Preliminary findings from the State Health Department have already flagged the hospital for failing to provide timely emergency care, raising serious questions about protocol adherence.

The Charity Commissioner Office’s report now becomes a crucial piece in the investigation, especially as the Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) Maternal Death Review Panel is expected to submit its own findings to the Public Health Department on Wednesday (9th April).

Three separate bodies are currently probing the incident — the State Health Department, the Charity Commissioner Office, and the municipal Maternal Death Review Panel. With two reports already in the government’s hands and the third imminent, officials have stated that a decision on potential action will be made after thoroughly reviewing all three investigations.
