PCMC: Electric Transformers Killing People In This Industrial Town

Pimpri, September 9, 2020: Despite three people losing their lives because of the utter negligence by Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), it has failed to provide safety nets to these transformers.
As many as six transformers have burst in which three people have lost their lives in the last four years. Yet MSEDCL has not installed any safety nets to these transformers at many places”, said Nandkumar Jagdale, president of Prahar Janshakti Party.
He said that the compensation offered by MSEDCL was inadequate. The amount given as compensation to the family members is very less besides that so far no action has been taken against any of its employees for negligence nor any report has been made so far”, Jagdale informed.
“After a person died in 2016 in a transformer blast, MSEDCL called out for tenders for installing the safety nets but yet the safety precautions are not taken properly leading to such accidents”, he said.
