In the city of Pimpri-Chinchwad, a lockdown has been declared against the backdrop of COVID19 outbreak. However, in Lockdown 4.0 many businesses are allowed to start. Such businesses are being started with the prior permission of the local self-governing body. Accordingly, salons/beauty parlours/businesses in the city are also allowed to start.

These are the terms and conditions: Establishments doing salon/beauty parlour business in the city can start their business by getting permission from local ward offices of the PCMC and renew it every year as per the rules. The distribution and renewal of this license is done by six health officers at the level of field offices.

Before starting a new salon/beauty parlour, new permission will be given according to the standard procedure. Professionals who do not have a municipal license or have not renewed their license will not be able to start their business, and the establishments concerned will be bound to follow the standard procedure.

Permission for businesses or establishments that do not comply with the SOP will be revoked. The hairdressing salon will be the first to be started in a building with an official building permit. However, the establishment of a structure that has been erected temporarily cannot be started.

Only salons/beauty parlours with adequate sunlight and abundant water supply can start a business. It will be mandatory to keep a minimum distance of two meters between the two chairs in the shop. However, where there are 3 chairs 1 customer at a time will be allowed and where there are 5 chairs then 2 customers will be allowed. All materials used for hairdressing or shaving e.g. scissors etc. Before each use should be sanitized with Sodium Hypochlorite (0.1%) solution in bleaching, detox or similar solution. Foam or gel should be used for shaving as it is not possible to wash and disinfect the brush used for shaving every time. Customers should be called within the stipulated time by setting a time for hairdressing or shaving. There should be no crowd inside or outside the shop. Customers coming for face or head massage will be required to use disposable gloves while massaging. Massage should not be done without using gloves. The entire hairdresser should be disinfected with sodium hypochlorite (1%) every 4 hours, and the floor should be wiped every 4 hours. It will be mandatory to observe social distancing inside and outside the hairdressing salon. The time for hairdressing will be from 9 am to 5 pm.
